The Lesser Sand Shark is a common flatfish shark species that occurs along the Eastern and Western Cape coast in South Africa. The Lesser Sandshark is also known as the Lesser Guitarfish and the Lesser Sandy. The Lesser Sand Shark is regarded as a poor fighter and does not grow to the sizes of it's cousin, the Giant Guitarfish.
